A rich and indulgent loaf of chocolate banana bread, perfect for using up overripe bananas and satisfying your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth, then stir in the melted butter.
  3. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in.
  5. Add the flour and cocoa powder gradually, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth it out.
  8. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra treat, serve with whipped cream or ice cream. Store leftovers wrapped in plastic wrap or in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
